Illinois, Crete - Wayfarer Farm

by Lydia Alvarez
(Crete, IL 60417 USA)

The horses speak for themselves on our 1,200 acre farm in Crete, IL. Our largest pasture is 26 acres and includes both shady and sunny areas.

Safe fencing. Run-in-shed. Slightly rolling hills. Miles of trails. Round pen. Outdoor arena. 24 hour supervision.

Stalls always available for emergencies or convenience. Safety stressed. Slow introduction of new horses to herd. 28 years at this location.

We guarantee: there is not another private facility like us east of the Rockies!!!

Give your horse the opportunity to be a horse...at least once!

Awful Establishment NEW

"We guarantee: there is not another private facility like us east of the Rockies!!!"

I truly hope with all sincerity that there is not another place like this in the entirety of the United States.

The awful conditions that horses are kept in are matched only by the rudeness of the proprietor.

I strongly suggest looking elsewhere, if you love your horses, this is not the place for you.

Conpetitor. NEW
by: Anonymous

Not sure giving yourself a five star rating with a conpetitor comment is justification for poor care. Anyone whose been there more than one week has had similar experiences to mine. Here are previous calls of neglect to this property responded to by the Will County Sheriff. It is documented well. Also Crete is a small town. People talk. Go to the local feed store or ask any local person; and you will very much see that this comment is not from a competitor: but solely based on fact and local experience.

Sounds like a competitor to me, trying to create division in Crete. Tisk tisk tisk...

Not as advertised. NEW
by: Anonymous

The pricing is low. However, the care is not as advertised. The property is not well maintained. Horses sit in their own filth. I don't know how this person is allowed to operate a "business." The horses sure do speak for themselves, but not in the way it is portrayed here. You get what you pay for. Go with the higher cost, and cleaner/friendlier grounds.
